manifesto

we want to state a vision of hacking as an attitude, not only for computer scientists.
our being hackers shows up in everyday living, even when we are not in front of our computer, when we struggle for changing things we dislike, as false and imposed information or also being just observers of new repressive and censor uses of technology.

we are impressed by the speed all this happens and how much this helps a noxious fear of the other human beings. we want to promote a completely different approach.

we are an open community of people who claims freedom for information and knowledge, open access to technologies to help a critical and aware approach to information technologies, to struggle nonsense fears used by governments and corporations to manipulate the public opinion and enforce the capitalistic rationality of profit against people wellness, public domain and public interest.
it's now 10 years we meet for a three days happening, without any sponsorship, "no staff and users, but participants" philosofy, to help a non hierachical discussion and organization of workshops, speeches and happy hacking. everything is decided in our open mailing list hackmeeting at inventati dot org.

our meeting is free of charge, we will discuss technical topics, "hands on" experiences and also politics. we are interested into digital rights enforcement, security research, cyberspace culture and the building of free servers where no commercial data mine and no logs are guaranteed, free software and creative commons opposite to the ancient copyright statement, a more ecological approach to power supplies, how technology deal with gender topics, how to promote privacy, how to hack sorveillance and how to resist censorship.

so come and join us, contribute on our mailing list or come to visit and share with us your experiences.
